Energy efficient appliances have
a lower running cost because they have been designed to use
electricity, water and detergent more effectively. This lower
running cost can offset part or all of the higher initial cost.
Once you have selected a model(s) of a particular
appliance group, the data base will make a comparison with a
model that is typically 10 years old. It then calculates the
running cost over a period of 15 years based on the current
costs of electricity, water and detergent and calculates the
accumulated savings as well as the savings in CO2 emissions.
